Primary Therapist
Christine Waters, who goes by Christy, graduated from Berry College in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. She went on to earn her Master’s in Community Counseling from the University of Georgia in 2018.
Christy has spent most of her career working with people experiencing severe mental illness as a counselor in an inpatient crisis unit. She works from a trauma-informed lens, using cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and person-centered therapies with her clients. Alongside her professional career in the field, Christy has also provided counseling through local nonprofits to survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence.
She is currently completing her PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision at Mercer University. When she’s not working or writing, Christy is on her small farm gardening and raising chickens, hiking, or reading a thriller with a cup of tea and her cat in her lap.
